Set a destination wedding favour budget by counting the gifts you will hand over, choosing an assortment for each group and reserving room for quoted delivery and extras. A gift may be per room, household or person. Below are three hypothetical worked examples using listed Good Graze prices; they are not completed customer orders.

Start with the method, not the number. Couples often search for an average, and then discover that it has nothing to do with their guest list. A wedding with 30 rooms and a wedding with 200 guests need two very different plans.

Step 1: count units, not guests

Your budget depends on how many gifts you will give, not how many people will attend. Do this before anything else.

  • Couples and families in one room need one gift between them.
  • Guests staying alone need one each.
  • Local guests who attend one function need one per household, or none.
  • Add only the spare quantity you decide is appropriate, and include its cost explicitly. Check how late additions or damaged gifts would be handled before choosing a buffer.

On a guest list of 120 for a destination weekend, you may find that you only need around 50 to 60 gifts. Going through the list properly takes half an hour, and it can save more money than any discount. Your own number will depend on how your family travels.

Step 2: split into tiers

Spending the same on everyone is simple, but it is rarely the best use of money. We suggest three tiers, and for most weddings the wider guest tier will be the largest.

Tier Example hamper Live price Who it suits
Wider guests Emerald Canopy ₹745 Friends, colleagues, one-function guests
Wider guests The Wedding Edit ₹765 Staying guests, room hampers
Close guests Crimson Canopy ₹840 Close friends, relatives
Family Crimson Canopy Reserve ₹1,215 Parents, close relatives
Family Midnight Bloom Grande ₹1,605 Grandparents, hosts, VIP guests

You do not have to buy all your favours from one place, of course. Plenty of couples use a ready hamper for the wider list and buy something local or handmade for family.

Step 3: run the numbers

These worked examples use listed hamper prices checked on 4 November 2026, including applicable tax. They exclude any separately quoted delivery, handling, printing, local additions or assembly charges, and assume no bulk discount. Confirm the complete quotation before ordering; do not add tax again to a tax-inclusive product price.

Wedding Plan Total Average per unit
Small, 30 rooms 25 × The Wedding Edit, 5 × Midnight Bloom Grande ₹27,150 ₹905
Medium, 60 rooms 45 × Emerald Canopy, 10 × Crimson Canopy, 5 × Crimson Canopy Reserve ₹48,000 ₹800
Large, 120 units 100 × Emerald Canopy, 15 × Crimson Canopy, 5 × Midnight Bloom Grande ₹95,125 ₹793

Compare each option with your own total ceiling. Larger family gifts increase the subtotal, even when they form a small part of the order. The table shows how a mix changes the average; it does not establish the right spending level for every family.

Use the same unit from count to final total

Hamper subtotal = sum of (quantity for each option × its quoted tax-inclusive unit price).
Complete order budget = hamper subtotal + separately quoted extras + any approved contingency.
Average per gift = complete order budget ÷ number of gifts. If you also need cost per attendee, divide the same complete budget by the guest headcount and label that figure separately.

For example, the 60-room illustration above contains 60 gifts and a hamper subtotal of ₹48,000: ₹800 per gift before extras. If those rooms hold 120 guests, the same subtotal is ₹400 per attendee. Both figures are correct, but they describe different units.

The costs couples forget

The price of the gift is only part of your favour budget. Before you lock it in, get a quote for each of these:

  • Delivery to the venue. Ask whether it is included, and how it is charged for many cartons.
  • Venue handling. Some hotels charge per room for placing items, and some charge a fee on outside goods.
  • Storage, if the venue charges for it, or if you need a separate space.
  • Printing, for welcome notes, itineraries and name tags.
  • Local additions, such as craft pieces, water or tea sachets.
  • Assembly help, if someone needs to add extras to each box.
  • Spares and replacements, for anything damaged.

A simple way to protect yourself is to hold back a part of your budget for these extras until you have written quotes. We would keep this line separate in your spreadsheet, so that it does not get quietly spent on a nicer ribbon.

Where to save, and where not to

Decide which contents recipients will use before paying for extra packaging or keepsakes. Compare net quantities and ingredients as well as the presentation. A smaller assortment may fit your brief better, but it is not automatically the better gift for every recipient.

Don't cut the note. A handwritten or printed line from the couple costs very little, and it is often what guests remember. We have seen how much difference a small story makes on a gift. Ours is that our coconuts grow on a family estate in Sindhudurg, with about 2,700 trees that have been in the family for five generations. Your story could be how you met, or why you chose this city.

If you want to reduce costs further, give one gift per room rather than one per person. Or choose between a welcome hamper and a return gift. For most destination weddings, you do not need both for every guest.

  • The Wedding Edit (₹765): Coffee Cookies 70g, Vanilla / Toasted Coconut Chips 75g and Peri Peri Almonds 100g.

Food preferences and allergens: All listed Good Graze hampers contain nuts. Check the current ingredient and allergen details for every component, including coatings and cross-contact information. A nut warning is not a complete ingredient list. Ask for confirmation for the exact selection and batch; choose a suitable alternative if a guest's requirement cannot be confirmed.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I spend on favours per guest?

Start from a total you are comfortable with, and divide it by your number of gifts rather than your number of guests. The examples above work out to around ₹800 to ₹900 per gift at listed prices. Your total depends on your own tiers.

Should I give a favour per person or per couple?

Per room or per household is the usual choice, and it brings your count down a good deal. Give individual gifts to guests who are staying alone. Keep the larger gifts for family.

Are bulk discounts available on wedding hampers?

Many vendors offer them, but the terms vary. Ask for a written quote for your exact quantity, delivery included. For Good Graze, share your requirement on WhatsApp and we'll confirm.
