If you haven't ordered your company's Diwali gifts yet, there is still time, but only for ready-made options. With Diwali on Sunday, 8 November and Dhanteras on Friday, 6 November, last-minute corporate Diwali gifts come down to two things: choosing hampers that are already packed and in stock, and placing the order early enough for the courier to get them there. Here's how to work out your real deadline, what you can still pull off, and what to drop from the plan.
First, work out your real deadline
Most teams plan around the festival date. That's a mistake. Your actual deadline is the last working day before people leave for the long weekend. This year Diwali falls on a Sunday (SmartPuja's 2026 calendar), so in many offices Friday, 6 November is the day gifts get handed out, and plenty of people will be on leave from Thursday.
Then work backwards from courier time. Our shipping policy is simple: orders placed before 5 PM IST ship the same day from our warehouse in Mahape MIDC, Navi Mumbai, and delivery outside Maharashtra usually takes 3 to 5 days. When we plan dates with customers, we take the 5-day end and add a day or two of buffer, because Diwali week is the busiest week of the year for every courier in the country.
| When the gift needs to be in hand | Arrive by | Outside Maharashtra: order before 5 PM IST on | Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane |
|---|---|---|---|
| Office handout before Dhanteras | Thu 5 Nov | Thu 29 Oct | We dispatch from Navi Mumbai; WhatsApp us for the cut-off |
| Gifts reaching employees' homes before Diwali | Sat 7 Nov | Sat 31 Oct | We dispatch from Navi Mumbai; WhatsApp us for the cut-off |
| Client gifts that land the week after Diwali | Fri 13 Nov | Fri 6 Nov | Ask us |
These dates assume a single address per order and the 5-day end of the delivery window. For anything unusual, a large quantity or a weekend order, message us on WhatsApp before you pay so we can confirm dispatch.
What you can still order, by days left
The closer you are to Diwali, the fewer moving parts your gift can have. Custom boxes, logo printing and handwritten notes all add steps, and every step is a chance to miss the date. Here's how we'd think about it.
10 or more days left
You still have room for a proper hamper order. Pick a ready-made box, confirm stock and quantity with the vendor, and keep the address list as clean as possible. If you were planning something customised, ask the vendor directly whether it's still realistic. Don't assume. Any lead time on a custom order is something only they can confirm.
5 to 9 days left
Stick to what's already packed. For urgent Diwali gifts, a ready-made hamper from a vendor who ships from your own city is your safest bet, because it cuts out the long-distance leg of the journey. For a Mumbai office, a box dispatched from Navi Mumbai has a far shorter trip than one coming from Delhi or Bengaluru.
Under 5 days left
This is where you combine options. Order hampers for the people you can reach in time, usually those in your city, and use something instant for the rest:
- E-gift vouchers for remote team members in other states. They aren't personal, but they arrive in minutes.
- An office Diwali spread on the last working day, with snacks, chai and a small diya for each desk. People remember the afternoon, not just the box.
- A "gift is on its way" note, sent on Diwali, with the hamper following the week after. A late gift with a warm message beats a rushed one that arrives broken.
Ready-made hampers that still make sense
When we pack Diwali orders, the hampers that go out fastest are the ones nobody has to think about: fixed contents, already boxed, priced per piece. Three that fit a last-minute brief well:
Emerald Canopy, ₹745
The Emerald Canopy healthy snack hamper is the one we suggest for whole teams. Inside: Vanilla or Toasted Coconut Chips (55g), Coffee Cookies (70g) and Peri Peri Almonds (100g). It's a sweet-and-savoury mix, so it works for people who would rather skip another mithai box.
Crimson Canopy, ₹840
The Crimson Canopy festive hamper with a scented candle adds something to light at home, which makes it feel more like a Diwali gift than a snack box. Inside: Almond Jaggery Cookies (100g), Vanilla or Toasted Coconut Chips (100g), Coconut Millet Pops (65g) and one scented candle.
Crimson Canopy Reserve, ₹1,215
For clients and senior people, the Crimson Canopy Reserve client hamper is a step up. Inside: Chatpata Cashews (100g), Coffee Cookies (70g), Oats & Almond Bites (80g) and Vanilla or Toasted Coconut Chips (75g).
The coconut in all three comes from our family's fifth-generation estate in Sindhudurg, about 500 km down the coast from Mumbai, and everything is made in small batches. Every hamper contains nuts, so check for allergies before you send one to someone you don't know well. You can see every box side by side in our corporate Diwali gift hampers collection.
These aren't your only options. A good local sweet shop, a dry fruit box from a trusted family store or a potted plant from a nursery near the office can all work for small numbers. The rule is the same whatever you choose: confirm it's ready to go today, not "can be made by Tuesday".
What to drop when time is short
Last-minute corporate Diwali gifts go wrong for predictable reasons. In our experience, these are the things to cut first:
- Mixing too many hampers in one order. One or two box types for the whole list is easier to pack, check and track than six.
- Collecting addresses at the last minute. Send one form to the team today with a firm deadline. Incomplete addresses and missing pin codes cause more delays than couriers do.
- Fresh mithai for out-of-town delivery. Milk-based sweets don't travel well over 3 to 5 days in a courier van. Choose packaged, shelf-stable food.
- Unchecked vendors. Packaged food must carry the FSSAI logo and licence number under the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020. If a seller can't show you one, look elsewhere. Ours is FSSAI Lic. No. 11520015000223.
A quick checklist before you pay
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Product shows as in stock | Out-of-stock items quietly hold up the whole order |
| Order goes in before 5 PM IST | That's our same-day dispatch cut-off |
| Full address with pin code and a phone number | Couriers can't deliver to "3rd floor, the blue building" |
| Someone will be at the delivery address | Many offices shut early in Diwali week |
| Allergies checked for each recipient | All our hampers contain nuts |
| Larger quantity or special request confirmed on WhatsApp | So we can confirm stock and dispatch before you commit |

Frequently asked questions
Is it too late to order corporate Diwali gifts?
Usually not. Last-minute corporate Diwali gifts are very doable if you choose ready-made hampers. For addresses outside Maharashtra, aim to order by Thursday, 29 October so gifts arrive before Dhanteras. For Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, WhatsApp us for the exact cut-off, since we dispatch locally from Mahape.
What is the best last-minute Diwali gift for employees?
Something fixed and already packed, at a price you can repeat across the whole team. A ₹700 to ₹900 snack hamper works for most offices. For remote team members you can't reach in time, an e-voucher with a personal message is a fair fallback.
Can I order Diwali gifts in bulk at the last minute?
Often yes, but confirm stock before you pay. Quick delivery for Diwali hampers depends as much on a clean address list as on the vendor. Share your quantity, delivery date and city on WhatsApp at +91 81049 05922 and we'll confirm what we can dispatch, and when.
Is it okay if a client gift arrives after Diwali?
Yes. A gift that arrives in the week after Diwali, with a short note of thanks, is still welcome. It's far better than a hurried gift that turns up damaged or with the wrong name on it.
